INDUCTED 1973
Although he was an all Big Ten player at Michigan, Ivy Williamson has a big impact on University of Wisconsin athletics as football coach and athletic director. Williamson coached the Badgers from 1949-55. He compiled a 41-19-4 record.
Williamson's 1953 team, led by fellow state Hall of Famer Alan Ameche, appeared in the Rose Bowl. In 1955, Williamson became athletic director at the university. He held that job until 1969, overseeing additions of sports to the program and managing other changes.
Before coming to Wisconsin, Williamson was an assistant coach at Yale and head coach at Lafayette.
