Green Bay Packers all-time leading wide receiver and 2016 Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Donald Driver has written an open letter to the people of Wisconsin, thanking them for their support and offering to help people attend the Hall of Fame Induction Event through a special “Family 4-Pack” promotion. Donald’s letter, along with details about the Donald Driver Family 4-Pack, are below.

Donald Driver's Letter to Wisconsin

Dear Wisconsin,

When I was drafted by the Packers in 1999, I didn’t know a soul in Wisconsin. I knew so little about this place, I wore shorts and a t-shirt on my very first trip…which was in April…and it was snowing! As a poor kid from Houston, I never dreamed my life would bring me here. But I thank the Lord every single day that He did.

Coming from Alcorn State as a 7th round pick, I wasn’t a big name player. Heck, at first many of my teammates didn’t even know who I was, and I can’t imagine many fans did either! But here in Wisconsin, none of that mattered. From my very first training camp when I wore number 13 and was fighting for time on special teams, you welcomed me with open arms. You encouraged me to be my best and treated me with compassion. You helped me celebrate my birthday, sending cards and baking cakes (which were delicious, by the way). We spent Christmases together, freezing our tails off in the greatest stadium on earth. We helped each other in times of need. We watched our kids grow up in front of our eyes. When I think of all the things that we have experienced together, the first word that comes into my mind is “family.”

I truly consider the people of Wisconsin, and Packers fans all over the world, to be members of my family. I can’t imagine where I would be without that family connection, but I know one thing is for certain: I would not have had a fraction of the success I did without you by my side. That’s why when it was announced that I would be inducted into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame for the success you helped me achieve, I felt it was only right that I give something back so that we can enjoy this moment together.

I hope that you and your family can join Bo Ryan and me on Saturday evening, April 30, 2016 for a special night!

Much Love,

Donald Driver
